This Privacy Policy explains how LeftLot Pvt. Ltd. ("LeftLot", "we", "us") handles personal information when you use leftlot.com and related services (the "Platform"), an online marketplace where businesses in India buy and sell surplus and dead inventory. By using the Platform you agree to this policy. We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.

Business and verification detailsCompany name, city, state, office address, GST number and PAN, which we use for KYC and business verification. If you add team members to a seller account, we also collect their email addresses.
Listings and transactionsInventory listings you create (descriptions, quantities, prices, photos, documents), offers you make or receive, and related order and inspection activity.
MessagesMessages exchanged with other users through the Platform, and conversations with our chat assistant.
Contact requestsName, email, phone number and message you send through the Contact form.
Technical dataIP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed and timestamps, collected through server logs and your browser's local storage (used to keep you signed in).

We do not sell your personal information.

3. What Other Users See

Your PAN and other KYC verification details are used only to verify your business. They are not shown to other users and can be viewed only by authorised LeftLot administrators.

Listing content, including photos, is visible to visitors of the Platform. Your contact details and company information are shared with a counterparty only as needed to carry out a transaction or verification on the Platform. Do not put sensitive personal information in listing descriptions or images.

4. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with service providers who help us run the Platform, and only as needed for that purpose. These providers fall into the following categories:

These providers may use your information only to provide their service to us, and are required to protect it.

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or a government authority, to protect the rights and safety of LeftLot and its users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this policy.

Some of these providers store data outside India. Where that happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate security safeguards.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. We do not use them for advertising. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings, though you may need to sign in again.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform. After you delete your account we remove or anonymise your data, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, dispute-resolution or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access controls on our database. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.

If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the Grievance Officer below. Withdrawing consent, or choosing not to provide information we need (for example, business verification details), may mean we can no longer provide some or all of the Platform's services to you. It does not affect processing we did before you withdrew, or processing we must continue for legal reasons.

We may need to verify your identity first. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within one month of receiving it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is constituted and accepting complaints.

10. Children

The Platform is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-Party Links

The Platform links to third-party sites such as our social media pages. We are not responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version. If we make significant changes we will notify you on the Platform or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
